About my friends...

From Workplace From College Days From School Days

At FCPL(old workplace) ...

Amit Shirodkar One of the first people with whom I struck an instant rapport right after joining my company...A topper and gold-medallist, he's got the most humble disposition I've ever seen in a guy. I was bowled over by his candid nature and total devotion to whatever he undertakes. He's now the happy(?) and proud(!) husband of yours truly :o)

Neelam Saboo I still remember the day when we met each other ...both of us so diffident, so anxious because it was our first day at work! A girl who knows her mind well... don't go by her frail looks, she's as tough as steel. A student of BITS Pilani, she's currently pursuing her MS at the UIUC.

Abhay Kulkarni A typical Libran... he's brilliant, loves to argue, very warm and friendly by nature and a die-hard fan of Kate Winslet! I'll never forget our candid talks, mostly arguments(!).  I've come to realize that his scolding over my lack of practicality and directional thinking were out of his friendly concern and not his love of arguments...

Darshant Bhagat Although classmates in college, we became close only at the workplace.  An amazing combination of sentimentality and practicality, he believes in living life to the fullest. A very dear friend. Currently working at Cisco Systems, California.

Prasanna Mucharikar Another Saggi like me, very impatient and impulsive. Believes that life is all about taking risks and fighting...Used to drive me nuts with his relentless teasing! Currently working at Cisco Systems, California.

Sanjay Chadda Fondly known as "Seth" in the entire office; he is a very kind and amiable person. A senior by age and experience, he flatters me by taking advice from me.

Hina Naseer She's one person whom I have never seen ruffled by anyone or anything. I've always admired her calm and collected attitude in life. A thoroughly nice person to know and talk to...

Vijay Gupta A full-bodied adult of 25, and he still feels that its his age to eat and play! A very good sport;  he has the knack of getting along with everyone...

Netra Deshpande An accomplished singer, she is not only brilliant at work, but also takes avid interest in other activities like acting, camping... I admire her for her crystal-clear fundas about life and her confident composure...

Radhika Deo Fondly known as "Madam" , she shares some of my unconventional ideas. Though a skeptic by nature, she's a very warm and co-operative colleague.

Those College days ...

Gayatri  Sivaraman One of the top brains in my class. And also the coolest one to take advice from. But the most wonderful thing about our friendship is that we were together for the first four years of school, parted and then got back together in college! She's very happily married and settled in London currently, working at Nortel Networks.

Veena Shetty  The most sensitive person I ever met...But she's got her heart in the right place. Currently working in Bombay.

Amol Kanitkar The most "decent" boy of the class. I have always admired his easy-going and no-holds-barred, friendly nature. I enjoyed the frank talks that we used to have in front of the computer lab.

Priety Gupta A shy and a soft-spoken Piscean, she always made me feel very garrulous. Her patience and tenacity have inspired me many times.  She's the only one from my group who had the good fortune to be working in her home city.

Pinkesh Shah A great flute-player and a true "Kanhaiya" of the class...He had his fingers in various pies! The gold-medallist of my batch, he was great at balancing lots of activities at the same time. Having completed his MS at Purdue University, he's now a budding entrepreneur,  very much involved with his newly-founded company.

Divyashika   Mehra Recently turned Mrs. Sethia, she was the most sincere and hard-working student I have ever met. A great singer too... Her "Morni baagaan maa" was a legend in college. Currently, she's working at Cisco Systems, California.

Shruti Bajaj Though she's is Mrs. Khanna now, she was famous as "Hamara Bajaj" in the class:) She and I shared a lot of common interests such as reading, dreaming and *arguing*! In spite of having diagonally opposite viewpoints on most topics, we understood each other the best...

From School Days ....

Azra Khan My best friend ever since class 6. She's been my friend, philosopher and guide through all those difficult growing-up years. She's currently working as a designer in an AD agency back home in Baroda.

Swapna Deshpande She's the weirdest, wackiest person I ever met... Drives me mad with her outwardly childish antics and inward cool logic... She's a recently-turned MCA-ite working in Baroda.
